Description

An introduction to the main methodologies used in the analysis of the work of art: formalism, iconography/iconology, semiotics, structuralism, post-structuralism, deconstruction, psychoanalysis, Marxism, feminism and postcolonialism.
  • Prerequisite: Any 200-level Art History course, or by permission of the instructor.
  • Restriction: Restricted to students in the Major, Minor, Honours and Joint Honours programs in Art History.
