Application of engineering and physical science principles to medicine and biological systems. Exploration of emerging and interdisciplinary areas within five research pillars: devices and sensors, modelling and AI, imaging, molecules and materials, and living systems engineering. How engineering principles are applied to solve complex challenges in research, healthcare, and medicine. Introduction to innovations such as biosensors, omics, wearables, signal processing, machine learning, advanced imaging modalities, biomaterials, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, organ-on-chip systems, genetic engineering, artificial organs, and regenerative medicine.
