Description
Examination of the methods for food system sustainability assessment and their trade-offs, focusing on conducting environmental life cycle assessment, life cycle costing, and an introduction to social life cycle assessment for agrifood systems (crops and livestock). Additionally, methods for trade-off analysis among the three
sustainability dimensions – environment, economics, social – will be evaluated and applied to agrifood system optimization and sustainability decision-making.
- Prerequisites: BREE 420 or equivalent or permission of the instructor
