Description

Fluid properties; dimensional analysis; drag; packed/fluidized beds; macroscopic energy balances, Bernoulli's equation and linear momentum theorem; flowmeters, pipeline systems, non-Newtonian fluids, microscopic balances leading to continuity and Navier-Stokes equations; boundary layer approximation; turbulence. Laboratory exercises.
