Description

Fundamentals of materials characterization methods and their applications in materials chemistry. Topics include static and dynamic mechanical testing, vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and FTIR), surface-based spectroscopies (XPS, Auger), advanced electron microscopy methods, X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (pXRD, WAXD, SAXS).
  • Prerequisite(s): CHEM 355 or equivalent, or permission of instructor
