Explores Asia as a global force shaped by migration, exchange, and transnational networks. Traces movements of people, ideas, and media—from Buddhist pilgrims and overseas students to diasporas and pop culture—revealing Asia’s central role in world history and contemporary globalization. Examines themes of nation, identity, race, gender, and translation through literature, history, theory, and film, highlighting how Asia has both shaped and been shaped by global interactions.
