Description

Examination of Chinese society in the Ming and Qing eras (1368-1912) through the exploration of themes like gender and sexuality, family, law, ethnicity and borderlands, education, literary production, and political organization.
  • Recommended: EAST 211 or HIST 208 or HIST 218
  • Restrictions: Not open to students who have taken EAST 494 when the topic was "Late Imperial China" and not open to students who have taken or are taking HIST 445.
