Description
Basic concepts in geochemistry and the quantitative application of principles of chemistry to geological subdisciplines using simple scripts in Matlab. Particular emphasis on the thermodynamics and kinetics of reactions on Earth and other planets, controls on elemental distribution, stable and radiogenic isotopes, and water chemistry. Application of phase diagrams to geology.

- Prerequisites: CHEM 110 and CHEM 120, or their equivalents in CEGEP; (MATH 140 and MATH 141) or (MATH 150 and MATH 151) or their equivalents in CEGEP.
