Description

This course offers an introduction to the literary movements of Biedermeier, Junges Deutschland, Vormärz, Poetic Realism, and Naturalism in connection with the political and social developments in 19th century Germany. Tests by major authors such as Buchner, Heine and Fontane will be discussed.
