Description
An examination of important problems in the postwar history of east central Europe. Topics include: the establishment of Communist regimes; Stalinism
and de-Stalinization; everyday life under Communism; the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, the Prague Spring, and Solidarity; political opposition; culture; and
the revolutions of 1989.
- Prerequisite: HIST 226 or HIST 215 recommended
