Overview of numerical methods; elasticity relations; element assembly process; formulative procedures; planar elements; convergence and accuracy; isoparametric formulation; rock joint and rock support elements; dynamic analysis; material and geometric nonlinearities. XFEM. Applications in mining and geotechnical engineering.
