Description

A survey of nineteenth-century European piano music: the piano virtuoso as cult figure, the social functions of the piano, women and the piano, and developing Romantic sensibilities as expressed in piano music throughout the century. Repertoire will include works by a wide range of composers.
  • MUAR 201 or MUAR 211 or MUTH 101 or MUHL 211 or permission of the instructor.
  • Restrictions: Open to all undergraduate students except those in a B.Mus. or L.Mus. program; not open to students who have taken MUAR 384.
  • 3 hours
