Description

History of opera from its origins in the musical, literary, and philosophical models available to the Florentine Camerata to the end of the baroque. The development of opera will be studied from the perspective of artistic style and in the light of historical, political, social, and economic conditions.

  • Corequisites: MUTH 250 or MUCO 241, AND MUSP 241 or MUJZ 214
