Description

A historically-oriented study of the principles of figured bass. Standard idioms from historical treatises will be introduced. Preparation of operatic excerpts from the standard high Baroque repertory is required.
  • Students must register for both MUPG 670D1 and MUPG 670D2
  • No credit will be given for this course unless both MUPG 670D1 and MUPG 670D2 are successfully completed in consecutive terms
  • MUPG 670D1 and MUPG 670D2 together are equivalent to MUPG 670
