Description
The religious and philosophical developments within the samurai class throughout the Edo (1600-1868) and early Meiji periods (1868-1912), including: an inquiry into the
rise of new Buddhist and Shinto schools, the influence of Neo-Confucianism, the development of nativism and finally the invention of the Bushido.
- Prerequisites: RELG 253 or RELG 352
