Description
The Comprehensive Examination in Sociology provides an opportunity for students to read broadly in two sub-fields within the discipline, after which they take a written
examination that assesses their competence in each sub-field. Students are required to be examined in two of the ten areas of specialization identified by the Department.
The comprehensive examination must be successfully passed by all doctoral candidates in order to continue in the doctoral program.
