WCOM 323. Writing Short Fiction.

Production of original works of literary short fiction in English. Advanced study and application of written storytelling techniques and craft elements used in contemporary short fiction forms, with a main focus on the short story. In-depth instruction in the nuanced creation of character, dialogue, scene, setting, point of view, narrative distance, and structure. Craft, analysis of published literary short fiction, workshopstyle critique, multiple drafts, and substantive revision.
