Class Averages

At McGill, class averages are calculated once each term (i.e., Fall, Winter, and Summer) according to the following schedule:

• Fall Term – February 15
• Winter Term – June 15
• Summer Term – October 15

The average is calculated per course (not per section), for courses that have 25 or more final letter grades, excluding grades of W, S, U, or P.

Class averages display on the unofficial/advising and official transcripts, are static, and cannot be removed from the record, once available. Courses in Medicine and Health Sciences, Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences, Graduate Studies, as well as Farm Management Technology do not display class averages.

Any grade changes processed after the class averages have been calculated will not be included in the calculation.
