International Exchange Program

The Desautels Faculty of Management prides itself on its international focus. To broaden this focus, we offer students the possibility of an exchange to over 60 top business schools around the world. You will gain incredible life experience in and out of the classroom, as well as return with academic credits towards your degree. This experiential learning will make you face challenges and opportunities that will help you grow personally and professionally. You will build lifelong relationships and discover a new part of the world. Your future career will be enhanced as a result.

At least two-thirds of all departmental program requirements must be completed at McGill and there is a CGPA requirement of 3.0.

Once nominated, students should follow the next steps on the International Exchange Program page. During your exchange registration period, students need to confirm that courses have been assessed previously or submit a new equivalency request through McGill’s Course Equivalency Database. After consulting the database, students must receive faculty approval for transfer credit for ALL courses taken on exchange, including electives, by completing the Course Approval and Transfer Credit Form (TCAF) in Minerva and by the time classes begin abroad. This ensures your academic plans align with your degree requirements and prepares you for a smooth transition into your exchange term and prevents graduation delays. Courses taken on exchange or study away must be taken for a letter grade and cannot be taken pass-fail. Students will not receive credit for any courses taken pass-fail away from McGill University. A course that overlaps with material already completed in your program will not receive credit approval. Students taking course(s) while on exchange that are counting in programs offered by departments outside Management—i.e., a minor or minor concentration, the Major in Mathematics and Statistics for Management, or the Major in Economics—must consult with a departmental advisor for course and approval.  Students must complete the Travel Registry for their exchange or risk the cancellation of their exchange and must arrange for their official, final transcript to be sent to McGill at the end of their exchange.
