Description
Principles of editing and revising texts written in French or English, or translated from French to English or from English to French, including the difference between editing and revising. Introduction to parameters and procedures applied in copy editing and editing practices, including structural, content, and substantive editing;examination of best practices used in bilingual revision; post-editing (i.e., revising machine-translation output); computer aids for editors and revisors.
- Prerequisites: CCTR 534
- Restrictions: Open to students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation or with departmental approval.
- This is a bi-directional translation course. Students will submit assignments in their target language, either English or French.
- Course includes synchronous and asynchronous activities.
- A minimum grade of B- must have been obtained in the prerequisite course, CCTR 534.
- A minimum grade of B- is required to pass this course.
