Description

Translation of legal texts. Overview of legal theory. Examination of legal translation methodology, legal terminology, phraseology, and legal citation guidelines through hands-on translation exercises of different subtypes of legal texts.
  • Restrictions: Open to students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Legal Translation or with departmental approval.
  • This is a bi-directional translation course (English to French and French to English). The languages of instruction are English and French.
  • Course includes synchronous and asynchronous activities.
  • A minimum grade of B- must have been obtained in the prerequisite course, CCTR 536.
  • A minimum grade of B- is required to pass this course.
