Scholarships, Competitions, Prizes, and Financial Aid

The Schulich School of Music offers a variety of prestigious scholarships and awards based on academic and performance achievements.

Entrance Scholarships
Newly admitted students in the Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) or Licentiate in Music (L.Mus.) programs are automatically considered for renewable entrance scholarships. No application is required. Examples include: the Schulich Scholarship, the Lloyd Carr-Harris String Scholarship, the Student Excellence Award, the Derek H. Davis Scholarship, the Suzanne Fortier Major Entrance Scholarship in Jazz Studies, the Suzanne Fortier Major Entrance Scholarship in Voice, the Wirth Family Strings Scholarship, the Wirth Family Voice Scholarship, the Alison Riseley Clark Organ Scholarship and the Mills-Tyrrell Best in the West Scholarship.
 
Merit-Based Awards for Returning Students

The Schulich School of Music offers an extensive list of merit-based awards and prizes for returning B.Mus. and L.Mus. students. No application is required. These awards are given on the basis of a student's record for the academic year ending in April and are applied the following academic year beginning in September.  See Scholarships and Student Aid for eligibility conditions.

Competition and Prizes
Additional funding opportunities and prizes for new and returning music students can be found in Music Tuition and Funding and Competitions and Prizes.  Winners of these competitions may receive funding to support travel, projects, research, and performance opportunities. 

Financial Aid
